Grandmaster Chay began teaching Tae Kwon Do in Racine in 1979 in the Uptown District. His son, Paul Chay, helped teach the children’s classes until his departure to the University of Wisconsin. The school moved to the Flatiron Mall about 10 years later. After working at Abbott Laboratories for 8 years as a chemical engineer, Master Paul Chay continued the family tradition when Grandmaster retired in 1995.
As the school continued to grow, a custom designed facility was built in 1997 to accommodate current and future enrollment. Although Tae Kwon Do is still the main program, Master Chay has expanded its offering of programs to include Little Ninjas, Krav Maga, Cardio Karate and Tai Chi Gung which will debut late in 2003.
