Krav Maga self defenseKrav Maga / Self Defense

Krav maga (Krahv magah or contact combat) is the official self defense and fighting system of the Israeli Defense Forces. Required training for scores of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies nationwide, Krav Maga is recognized as the most efficient self defense system for real-life situations; emphasizing practical defenses against real attacks.

Krav Maga is based on instinctual fight or flight moves and on natural reflexes thus making it easy to learn. There are no rules in Krav Maga; you use everything you’ve got. Krav Maga’s emphasis is on simple movements allowing people of all ages and fitness levels to learn real self-defense.

The system is characterized by a logical and coherent approach to self defense that enables one to achieve a relatively high level of proficiency within a short period of instruction. Also, Krav Maga gets its students into prime shape because it is a complete head-to-toe full-body workout. Instructors incorporate realistic reenactments, teaching students how to operate under the stress of an actual attack. “It doesn’t really matter how strong you can punch or kick if you can’t perform when your life is in danger,” explains Darren Levine, U.S. Chief Instructor and 6th degree black belt. “Students learn to tap their aggressiveness in any situation.” When your throat is grabbed, your instinct is to reach up and grab the attacker’s hands. Krav Maga teaches you go with that instinct and turn it into a defense.

People of all ages and levels of physical fitness can start Krav Maga classes as beginners and work their way up quickly. Students not only walk away with hard bodies, healthy hearts and effective self defense techniques, they learn how to prepare themselves mentally to tap into their own aggressiveness in any situation.
